CENTRE FOR BIODIVERSITY AND CONSERVATION STUDIES

Increasing human population and rapid urbanization are negatively affecting the natural resources throughout the world. Many other factors related to development either natural or human- induced lead to rapid declines in the natural resources including the flora and fauna. Telangana State geological being land locked is a home to many unique Gondwana elements that are restricted to the peninsular India. Osmania university proposes to establish the Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Studies to provide a platform for conducting research to prepare inventories of biological resources, understand threats to the habitats and the species and propose mitigation actions. This centre will act as a liaison between the State Forest Department and citizens.
